I am wondering how to clean rings that have gemstones like rubies and diamonds, besides the jewelry cleaner.?

Like the jewelry cleaner you get from a jewelry store. Is there a good home remedy?

Dont put them in an ultrasonic machine ! Never with gems except very high clarity diamonds.
So, mild soap and a toothbrush are the best. Don't use high acidity soaps or any bleaching product since that might attack your metal settings and ring.
For daily cleaning I use a towel made from microfibers, like the one's for cleaning your glasses, to take the grease from the gems. (Diamonds love grease).

Enjoy daily your jewelry :-) !

Realizing the right way to wear wedding rings can let you take pleasure in the romantic sign on your finger with no any etiquette bloopers. A wedding ring may seem like an easy piece of jewelry, although how you wear it is packed with symbolism.

The most significant thing to keep in mind is that wedding rings must not be worn prior to the wedding ceremony. While it may be essential to try on the ring to be certain it fits correctly, it should not be worn for any comprehensive period of time until the wedding vows are exchanged.

Conventionally, wedding rings are worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, subsequently to the pinkie finger. This ring finger, consorting to the ancient Greeks and Romans, comprises the vein that runs straight to the heart, giving the wedding ring a romantic link to one's body if it is worn correctly.

If wearing an engagement ring and wedding ring, the wedding ring is typically worn next to the hand, building it representatively secure to the heart. If your wedding ring is actually a bridal set that includes a diamond ring wrap that completely surrounds the engagement ring, the position of the wedding band portion of the complete set is less significant.

Many brides desire to take off their engagement rings through the wedding so that the wedding band can be placed on the finger correctly, close to the hand. The engagement ring can be worn on the right hand in the ceremony, or it may be left to the maid of honor or a parent till later than the ceremony.
If you do decide to wear your engagement ring in the wedding, the wedding band will be on the exterior of the hand after the ceremony. In this case, it is correct to subtly take off both rings and toggle their sort after the ceremony is over.

Wedding rings should by no means be worn while swimming, whether you are in a pool, lake, ocean, or other body of water. Cool water will contract one's ring size, making the rings much looser. This could make them easier to fall off and be lost without comment.

Avoid wearing wedding rings through rough actions such as car repair, gardening, sports, or housecleaning. These types of actions will not only get the rings dirty, however they can also scrape, nick, or warp the rings. It is better to simply take out the rings so they will keep appearing their most excellent.

The proper wear of wedding rings of unusual designs is more challenging than with simple bands. A subtle, uniquely shaped wedding band must be worn alone or with a custom matched engagement ring rather than being worn as an uneven set. This will emphasize the ring's uniqueness in a beautiful and significant way.
Many women ultimately receive eternity rings as an anniversary gift. These whole diamond bands are often used to restore a plain wedding band since wearing all three rings - engagement, wedding, and eternity - as one can be too wide for most fingers. The novel wedding band, then, may be worn on the right hand or stored and worn only not often.

When a couple gets divorced, the wedding rings ought to not be worn after the divorce proceedings have been confirmed. At that time, the marriage is dissolved and it is inapt to persist wearing the symbolic rings.

When a spouse dies, it can be harrowing to take off a wedding ring. There is no time line for taking out a wedding ring while in mourning, and many spouses who were married for decades keep on to wear their wedding rings for many years even after their noteworthy others pass away. If they begin a new relationship, still, it is more proper to take out the old wedding ring.

The most significant way to wear wedding rings is to wear them each day with the unchanged love and commitment from the day they were first put on. However the rings may happen to scratched or dull over time, the love they represent will not lighten if they are always worn in good faith.

how to buy jewelry

how to buy jewelry how to buy jewelry

So you're looking to buy her jewelry this holiday, but every gift you've ever given her has ended up re-wrapped and passed along to her grandma? Have no fear - we've outlined 3 easy steps to finding her an accessory she won't ever give up...even if Grandma begs her to.

Stick With What Works

When it comes to jewelry, girls are creatures of habit. The variety they apply to their necks, earlobes and wrists rarely goes beyond a double- versus single- chain earring, or a square pendant versus a round one. This makes your task (should you choose to accept it) quite easy. All you have to do is pay attention. If she wears a pair of plain silver hoop earrings almost every day, get her another pair of silver hoop earrings that have a slightly different look -hammered to provide some texture, or only a partial circle. If she adorns herself with large gemstone necklaces or bracelets, keep in mind that chunky and fun, not fine and delicate, is her style.

Along that same vein, unless she has specifically mentioned that she wants to shake things up in the metals category, it is safe to assume that what she has is what she prefers in terms of gold versus sterling silver. She will not likely want to wear the new gold bracelet you have given her if she has no other jewelry to match it.

Pick Colors Methodically

Ever heard someone tell your girl, "that color really brings out your eyes?" Well, we bet she has, and she's not likely to forget it. There are a couple of hard and fast rules to finding a color that complements skin tone, eye and hair color. The first is that when two colors are near each other, opposites enhance, but similar tones clash. That means that if your girl's locks are a beautiful red, a big green necklace will make both colors much more striking, whereas an orange necklace would probably dull both down to an unattractive, orangey mess.

The second rule is, the farther you go from the source, the more likely that similar colors will catch and improve each other. In other words, any jewelry that is meant to bring out the green in her eyes should also be green, since eyes are small and far away from most jewelry. If, however, you are trying to draw attention to her fabulous tan, we recommend that her bracelet, necklace or earrings be white to ensure contrast up-close.

Buy Something With Meaning

When it comes down to it, we know she wouldn't ever give away that necklace you bought her no matter how awful it was, because she is way too sentimental for that. But wouldn't it be nice to find her something she can form both an aesthetic and an emotional attachment to? The easiest way to do that is to buy jewelry that features her birthstone (yes, someone assigned a stone to every month of the year!) or an anniversary stone, if appropriate. For an extra-special touch that won't take much effort on your part, do some quick web research (we recommend http://www.dashaboutique.com/gemstonechart.html) and print out a history of the stone, including the origin of its name and its mythical powers.

This may be the one exception to our first piece of advice - if she has none of this stone in her collection currently, we are confident that after she learns that it is meant to guarantee wealth (Citrine), she will quickly make it a regular part of her wardrobe.

how to make jewelry

how to make jewelry how to make jewelry

The historic price ratio of silver to gold shows that about 10 ounces of silver would buy one ounce of gold, a 10:1 ratio. Recently, the ratio is about a 50:1 ratio (with silver at $20/oz., and gold at $1000/oz.) As the silver to gold ratio returns to historic values, from 50:1 to 10:1, you may make over 5 times more money investing in silver, than gold!

More than all of the silver produced by the mines each year is consumed by industry, which leaves little to no room for substantial investment demand. A marginal increase in investment demand will drive prices sky high.

Most silver is produced as a by-product of mining gold, copper, zinc, or lead. Higher silver prices might not substantially increase the amount of silver mined each year. Consider, in 1980, when silver prices went up to $50/oz., less silver was mined than in 1979.

So watts this mean to the jewelry sector ?.Simple a huge increase in the cost of silver jewelry and with that will come a bigger demand by the general public.

Now this is were it gets tricky ,if you are a jewelry retail shop or a customer you have to be sure that the silver your selling or the silver jewelry item your buying is of the highest standard,98%fine silver is the best.It is quickly becoming the new fashion standard.

At present 90% of all silver is made to a standard 925%Sterling silver, which means it has a small amount of impurities added ,However for an investment this just isn't good enough .and it gets worse ,if you do buying trips for silver from lets say to Asian countries, the majority of silver in street stalls would not pass the assay test 925 that's because the manufacturer has added large amounts of copper or bronze with the silver in order to be able to sell it cheap.

There are no tricks to buying silver ,firstly you must establish a good customer relationship with a reputable manufacture or wholesaler.

Secondly he should be happy to provide documentation of were the raw silver comes from with a assay test certificate.

Thirdly try and buy silver that's Monogrammed,Customers love having designer name brands such as KDL,and you will find that if a manufacturer is name stamping his silver jewelry he has a reputation to protect.

So to sum things up ,Yes invest in silver jewelry ,but only in 98%pure silver ,wear it ,use it and wait for the price increase then you truly have a valuable asset ,you can even have it melted down and re sell the silver .Its a win win over gold .Even if gold increases in price it will not match the percentage profit that silver is now starting to return.

How can I sale jewelry for a reasonable price in which I haven't gotten appraisal papers for?

I have inherited a watch and necklace which is worth a few dollars. But I cant afford to pay and get the pieces apprasied, therefore how can I get decent money for my pieces of jewelery when I decide to sale. Where should I take the pieces. An aution?

You really need to get them appraised. How do you know if youre sitting on something worth a lot if you dont know what you have? I would save the money and get it appraised. Most places I know of wont charge a big fee if any.
