Antique Brooch?
I bought a beautiful "gold" brooch in the shape of a fly or bee. There are some lovely stones decorating it i.e. garnets, topaz etc and there are some inscriptions which I can't make out. It is very well made and I think it could be either Victorian or edwardian. How can I get it dated and also find out the value. Our local Jewellers have never seen anything like it before.
Watch for antique shows or sales in your area. They frequently have appraisal sessions. Inquire at an antique shop. If they can't help, ask if they know of someone who can. It's probably better if someone sees it in person.
